(Restricted to Stanford University members)

Three ways to apply as a team / indicate your interest in joining a team:

  • Choose a problem, form a team
  • Come with a self-selected problem and/or technology, form a team. We find a sponsor (email the teaching team to discuss)*
  • Indicate your interest as an individual and availability to join a team, indicating your preferred problems. Find a team to join / Team finds you to join with them.

*Preformed teams have precedence over individuals looking to form or join teams.

Apply forming a team around your own problem idea or one related to the examples we list

We continue to curate the problems for the Innovation for Climate and Sustainability cohort from across the Community. Check back in for updates as we add more problem statements!  See the team formation link to help find teammates.

Apply with a technology

We encourage applicants with a technology to apply. If you have a technology, please email us to make sure that it is appropriate for the class. We will work with you to find an appropriate sponsor as well as additional teammates, as needed.

Indicate your interest as an individual and availability to join a team.

It is not possible to apply directly as an individual to the class.  However, in addition to completing the "Find Team Members" spreadsheet linked from the i4cs.stanford.edu website, you may fill out the application and submit it to highlight your interest in joining a team like-minded around a problem you express interest in working on. Note: the course is often oversubscribed.  It is recommended to try to join or form a team prior to the application deadline.  Email the teaching team if you have questions.
